Happy 62nd Birthday Daw Aung San Suu Kyi
When I was in Burma I saw her house. The potholed pavement of the road in front of it (on either side the road is in much better condition). The decaying speaking platform she’s not allowed to use anymore. The roadblocks that are set up every evening at 6:00.
There are a lot of despicable things about the SPDC, and their unjust imprisonment of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is one which the international community has seen fit to protest. Than Shwe and the other yahoos in charge have ignored ASEAN, the United Nations, and other diplomatic groups.
It’s time to start putting pressure on China and the other nations who trade with and support the SPDC.
